Robbie....it's too early for winter, isn't it???>>>>>>>>>>> I guess it's kind of academic, the things that human beings can do to other human beings....what white American's did to American Indians, black slaves, black freedpeople, other white American,s...what Cambodians did to Cambodians, Koreans to Koreans, African Tutsi's to Tutu's, South african's to South African's. There's a world full of it, going back through all recorded history. I don't think we have any moral authority, other than having been in the middle of it at one time, and still????... finding glory in it. As proud as I am to have served, I still feel a strong sense of paridigm. I feel the same way now towards what is happening in Iraq, proud of the soldiers who serve, sick at the thought of yet another romantic venture, al a crusade! When will we ever learn? A catchy phrase for a song?..I'd rather be thought of as a romantic fool, than give in to cynicism. When will we ever learn?

Jim Baggs. Well, after reading all that has gone on since you posted that web site, it would seem that it might not have been a good way to get started on this site. I'm not trying to condem or preach. I usually keep out of such goings on. I was thinking maybe instead of trying to defend what you posted, maybe a quick but sincere apology would work much better. I agree that you put a good warning on the post, but not knowing all of the Brothers and Sisters that visit this site, you might want to get to know some of us first. I know you said you were in the 129th in 72/73. I was there in 69/70 and flew as gunner with Mark Jackson's brother Larry Jackson for 2 months before crewing my own ship. Mark is the person that started this web site and it has grown to what it is today and has brought lots of Brothers together again, and we love him for it. Well, I've got to get going and put some cold weather hand protection on my motorcycle. Jim I hope you consider what I suggested and stick around and connect with Brothers you knew from your time at Lane. I'm sure you're not a monster. Hope everyone is doing good.....Rob

Jim not Jim Westwang. After hearing and reading about your recommed site. And then reading your post. I have come to the conclusion you have problems. And in need of help which you won't find here. I can't believe you get off viewing such horrible act towards human beings. You have no respect for the people whom visit this site. You could have at least stated what the site consist of. Sick Joke. THE PATRIOT-OUR USA USA - Thursday, September 30, 2004 at 09:17:57 (MDT) Self proclaimed patriot (coward who won’t identify him or her self) your projection that I “get off viewing such horrible acts” is just that a PROJECTION: attributing one’s own traits, attitudes, or faults to others. In terms that you may understand it’s when you falsely accuse someone else of what you are guilty of, at the same time blowing smoke up your own ass telling yourself that you are perceptive. …………On the following site is a video download (10 to 15 min if your on dial up) the video is VERY GRAPHIC DO NOT VIEW THIS IF YOU ARE EASILY UPSET BY VIOLENCE, it is the beheading of one of the two Americans kidnapped last week. The first 7 to 8 min is just the head ass#@%& ranting........... http://www.homelandsecurityus.com/Hostages.asp jim USA - Monday, September 27, 2004 at 12:41:06 (MDT)…………This is the original post it clearly states what was on the video as to the rest of the site I don’t care, the video from what I have been able to able to determine is authentic and what it really depicts is the true face a real enemy nothing to get paranoid about just informed…… Sick joke? Yes you trying to think. Before you can respect others you have to learn to respect you and you are obviously very insecure which is manifested by your fear of the world as it is.

If you go to the Windows Update page you can click on on Windows Catalog at the top center of the page and that will bring you to a page of recommended software downloads. Of which adware removal tools and other utilities are listed. Some are free and others have the price posted. This is software recommended by Microsoft and gives a good discription of the program. Remember with free software. You get what you pay for. With most free software of this nature the updates must be done manually. So make a habit of doing them once a week or every other week. Hope this info helps. Have a nice day. Rick Jensen

Ray, Alvis has it right, although I think I'll have to try his spy ware program. Ad Aware has a free program, called SE Personal. You can download it right off the internet. If you use dialup, it may take a few minutes, but, it's worth it! The other one I use, spybot search and sestroy, is also free. I had that one initially, and adaware found another 37 spies in my computer!!! I use both now, just run them once a week, and go onto their websites for the free upgrades. It makes a big difference in keeping the computer running at it's normal speed. The spy programs just clog the thing up until it won't run, then you're really screwed!!! Good luck.

Man I thought it was cold this morning when I rode to the VA center. I just came back from a friends house and it was 49 degrees out when I left there. I'm glad I only live 8 miles from him. No windshield and I didn't have my chaps with me. BRRRRRRRR. When I talked to the doctor today, he said did the doctor tell you last time that you have blood in your urine? I said no she didn't. So they are going to have me come in Oct 21st and put a dye in my kidney and see if there is anything wrong there. There were other guys there for their initial check up and they told us to bring any prescriptions we have with us. I had one bottle for acid reflux, and most of the other guys had a bag with about 10 bottles or more. Well, I won't bore you any more. Hope everyone is doing good......Rob

Ray, just type in spy sweeper, hit search, and a free trial download will be one of the first options. After you download it,hit sweep. It will go thru ALL of your files.after its finished,be sure to look into the quartine area to delete items found also.In ,my opinion, its better than adwARE, it does a more investgative job.

I was informed of the truth of life through a song...faster horses, younger women, old whiskey, and more money!!!!! Along with the truth of old dogs, children, and watermelon wine, Tom T. Hall pretty much said it all. My Bhuddist beliefs tell me that most anything is acceptable, as long as it's done for the RIGHT REASON.......we sometimes get a little carried away in expousing our beliefs here, me included. It's best to keep doing so ( in my humble opinion) just so long as we recognise that none of us really has the inside track on every issue! To me, george bush is the anti christ personified! To a lot of others here, he's a very special person.....time may tell......when I think back on some of the war crimes, needless killings that went on during our little war, I wonder what gives us the moral authority to condemn the actions of others, as they attempt to affect a favorable (to them) outcome to whatever issue bothers them! freedom isn't free....that's one of the most stupid sayings I've ever heard!!!!!!if it isn't free, it isn't freedom!!!!!! Anybody out there thinks we're free, try not paying your taxes, and see how long you're free!!!! We can't even attend a political rally without signing a loyalty oath, congress pushed through a bill that would take away the separation of powers between the legislative and judicial branches of our government, and most no one even notices????? folks, we need to communicate on this (and other) sites, and get our differences out into the open, with respect for them, and start telling our elected? officials to get this country back to it's original promise! We need to make sure others learn from our past experiences, and try and make this a better place for all, not just the privileged few! moving onward and upward doesn't mean moving away, it means making our world into a better place, any way we can......

Holy Cow. My computer slowed down from a crawl to not moving at all. Had to call in a computer geek to get me going again. I had so much spyware crap on my system, it was choking it as soon as I turned it on. It seems to be running good now though. Mark, that's fine that you gave that rock to Roger Austin. That's probably who it was supposed to go to. Sorry to hear about your friend's wife. There is no easy way to lose someone it seems. But as with my brother and yours, it's not being able to say goodbye that hurts so much. I still haven't heard back from Steve Desantis' relations. Maybe they want it that way, not sure. Gently, if I can get anything from that ship in Mobile, I will. I might call tonight and see what he was able to salvage. Ray it was good talking to you tonight and I'm also sorry about your friend passing away. Don't let those builders take advantage of you....My Brother is hanging in there with his Chemo treatments. He gets them every other Tuesday, and I usually leave him alone on those days because I know he's not going to feel good. Well, that's enough from me, lets hear from some of the other Brothers that are just reading. We'd love to hear just a Hi from you.......Rob

“THIS IS A PLACE TO HEAL, FOR MANY STILL HAVE WOUNDS.” It appears I have a much different approach to healing than some, I didn’t Develop some new system but I kept looking when the “experts” couldn’t answer my questions, when the “experts” contradicted themselves. Which lead me to a search for truth, not a personal truth but a universal truth , that which is already always true, gravity is a truth, it actually exists, you can directly experience it, it doesn’t exist because Newton observed its behavior and wrote down his findings. So it is with the rest of the universe. What is is and what isn’t isn’t, prime imperative, supreme OBLIGATION, survival, the fight of flight response, is another truth; anyone who needs a reminder should pick up a cat that feels threatened. With humans though it isn’t so much a real threat as with terrorist (and this war isn’t just “over there”) or criminals. Humans take positions, supported by reason, rationalization, beliefs and opinions and when those positions are attacked we (the EGO) feel threatened. We developed these positions because we learned ( consciously or not )to do so from those around us, our parents, teachers, politicians etc., most of those positions are based on a “judgment” of good or evil, right or wrong, proper or improper , respect or disrespect, the list goes on. I have found that there are two ways of saying it 1, there is no good or evil, there are just consequences 2, there is good and evil but we suffer only when we have a conflict between the two, that is to say when we think some thing should not have happened, how could it be any other way, nothing can happen that isn’t in accordance with the laws that run this universe (whether you call it God, nature etc). There is a time to be born and a time to die, a time for war a time for peace, but in the end nothing has been or can be gained, it’s all just the grand play of the universe, the will of God etc. When tired sleep ,when hungry eat, when cold put on more clothing, when hot seek a cool place, but at the same time to eat is to survive to be hungry. Viewing the site I posted will not give you nightmares only your mind (ego) can give you nightmares and you are not your mind. That’s my contribution to the “place to heal”. Its one of those things you just “get”, If not well F**k it, in the grand scheme of things it just don’t matter anyway. Time to move on. AMF

I have'nt posted latley but read every morning. So I thought I might put my 2 cents worth in. I suffer from PTSD ( though the Dr.'s and shrinks seem to be the only ones that believe, meaning the DVA don't) when I saw Jim Baggs post I read the very clear warning and did not chose to view it, I am sure that it would have put in a tail spin.I dont think this is actually political so here goes. I belive that who ever is the Prez.doesn't have a clue what is going on any more, there is know way he could. Meaning there is simply to much going on in the world that needs looking at for any one man to follow .My thoughts are that all the Prez knows is what his people tell him and he does what they advise him to do. And face it we have all had a chance to see who is running for Prez ,anyone seen one with out standing brain power, I haven't.I urge every one to vote for whom ever they feel will do the best job.But I also feel that the the guys that are running are just trying to tell us what they think (or the people that are write there speachs thinks) will get them most votes.History will bare me out(am I neked) that they very seldom if ever, carry out what what they promise us they people.I belive that the real power is in the hands of people we will never have a vote on. I think we should vote on the people who advise the Prez if we really want to have a say. But again they would probably lie to use to get elected.I guess I might be confused and maybe thats my PTSD paranoia speaking who knows. So thats my take on it I know it probably is out of context with what is going on is the LOG I am always a day late(lol). But I wanted to have a view on something so I could talk to everyone .Hope all are are doing as good as they can and my prayers go out to all .A Brother in Deed and Heart george

Smitty, my friend: there was nothing posted on the web site by me to indicate I thought it was you who posted the video information. I stated "Jim" without an indication as to who that was. As to the information on the video being posted, well, my feeling was and still is that this is a very dangerous place to share such information: with many still suffering from PTSD, the video would be what is called a "stressor" and therefore should be avoided. Why someone would look for such a website, and then share it with people they do not know is beyond me, but it was done, and though premised with "gruesome" I can't help but feel more warning should have been forth coming. Again, Smitty, I did not indicate it was you on this website. I would not handle it in such a fashion, you know that. Also know that I love you. Gently

"You're one o' them over-educated book readin' liberals ain't ya"?........ I had an uncle way back when who always messed with me about reading books. I read thousands as a kid, and he used to say things like the above to insult me in front of everyone. He looked down on intellectualism, for lack of a better term. He sneered at those who read newspapers or books of any kind. Of course, he'd never ever read a single book in his life, other than school. But this attitude is nothing new, and now even the president carries this anti-intellectual swagger. This is still going on, stronger than ever. Teens make fun of the smart kids. I was never that bright, but the one's who were were always picked on and ridiculed. The less educated kids scoff at scholarly kids who use proper English, as opposed to the current slang. That same childish attitude is carried into adulthood unfortunately, and I've never seen it in more full swing than right now. Especially under Bush II. He BRAGS about not reading books or newspapers. BOASTS about his in-curiousness. Deliberately uses a "psuedo-southern" accent to "dumb it down" for the masses. The Nazis also attacked intellectuals and free thinkers. Saw them as dangerous, because thinking for yourself is counter to the group think, Nazi personae. Become like the dominant mob, don't be an intellectual troublemaker. Write only nationalist books, speak only nazi words, make only official artworks and music. When I was readin' all them fancy schmancy books, I read about the Nazis pretty heavily. They've always fascinated and horrified me, and I was caught off guard when I realized that Bushkkko is using the Nazi playbook, for the same Nazi purposes.

Like Dogs in the Night......... "No passion so effectually robs the mind of all its powers of acting and reasoning as fear" —Edmund Burke............ Politics used to be fun. Especially in Texas where zany, God-fearing politicians really knew how to "get down." That was back when you could destory an opponent without really hurting him -- tell lies so unbelievable and outlandish that giggling voters flock to the polls to vote for you just because you're so dadgumed creative. In his heyday, nobody was better at gettin' down politically than Lone Star Lyndon. In 1948, after 11 years in the House of Representatives where he proved to be a formidable, power-hungry campaigner, LBJ hit fellow Democrat and popular former Texas governor Coke Stevenson with everything he had as they squared off for a run at the Senate. Legend has it Johnson told one of his aides -- "Go out there and tell 'em Coke was caught having sex with a farm animal." "But, Lyndon," the aide protested, "you know that's not true!" "Of course it's not true!" Johnson responded impatiently. "That's not the point. Tell it anyway -- and make him deny it..." In politics, going from down to down-and-dirty is no distance at all. The battle between Stevenson and Johnson was the closest senatorial race in the nation's history, and Johnson -- who initially lost -- managed a "comeback" that created the model used in Florida 52 years later by the Bush team. Stevenson's victory lap was brought up short when an amended return appeared miraculously from Jim Wells County, giving Johnson 201 votes and Stevenson only 2, putting Johnson ahead by 87 votes. Not to be outdone -- Duval County, in its eagerness to help Johnson -- was caught with its hands in the ballot box. Stevenson protested all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court but, wouldn't you know, while the case was wending its way to that august body, Jim Wells inadvertently "lost" its voting lists, and Duval made the only prudent choice -- it burned the entire county's returns. Well, naturally, the Supremes refused to hear a case with no evidence. But, hey -- no harm done -- just another glitch in run-of-the-mill Texas politics. It isn't like the shudder that rippled through the nation was the beginnings of momentum that would ultimately carry a couple of Texas cowboys to the Oval Office or anything. No way a few dirty tricks in Texas could change the course of history... There is a vast difference between those two who did make it to the top -- Lyndon Johnson and George Bush. For starters, Johnson was a bona fide, card-carrying Texan, while Bush can only prance around playing dress-up in his boots and cowboy hat. Johnson lusted for the power of the Oval Office so obsessively that he spent his entire adult life relentlessly preparing himself for it. Bush was not only breathtakingly unprepared for the job, but proves more and more with each passing day to be totally unfit for it, and he apparently had no concept of what the job entailed. Just three months before the 2000 selection, Bush breezily told reporters in the critical state of Iowa -- "I don't know whether I'm going to win or not...If not, that's just the way it goes." Johnson is responsible for his state's sprawling network of roadside parks -- each one an oasis that still offers respite to weary travelers -- which he created in the wake of the Great Depression to provide work for impoverished Texas youth, many of them Hispanics and Blacks. Bush is responsible for his state's sprawling prison network -- each one housing far too many Texas youth, far too many Hispanics and Blacks -- from which, as governor, he cold-bloodedly chalked up the nation's highest execution rate... Both men will be remembered for the significant changes they made in how government functions. Johnson, a devoted supporter of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal, brought us the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and put the social safety net firmly in place with his Great Society Program. Bush, a devoted supporter of Dick Cheney and Paul Wolfowitz's Global Empire deal, brought us the largest deficit in the nation's history, the USA Patriot Act of 2001 and -- like a rabid jackal -- tore into the social safety net immediately upon taking office. Verily, no children are being left behind... Both Johnson and Bush will be remembered for floundering around in the hopeless quagmire of bloody wars. They will be remembered for the needless injury and death of millions of military and civilians, and for thrusting US citizens into environments where they were desensitized into doing shameful and vicious things they would never have dreamed they were capable of doing. Johnson recognized his folly, made a feeble attempt at damage control with a half-hearted attempt at negotiation, and exited public life -- a broken man. Bush brazenly refuses to admit he made a mistake even though his lies for rushing to war have long been exposed throughout the world. He stands there, a clownish "Baghdad Bob," insisting he is winning the war, that his will is firm no matter how many US citizens perish, and blathers that "freedom is on the march." He stands there resolute -- while body parts of the innocent sail through the air behind him and American's sons and daughters are slaughtered at a clip of three a day and sneaked back to the US in flag-draped coffins. He stands there -- a shameful and hollow man. Dirty politics didn't start in Texas, but flourished there like nowhere else, and has since spread its tentacles throughout the nation. In 1964, Johnson had moved on from sex with farm animals, and introduced fear into dirty politics when he sucker-punched both Barry Goldwater and the entire nation with an ad mirroring a giant mushroom cloud in the eyes of an innocent little girl. Johnson won in a landslide. Republicans -- especially those named Bush -- sat up and took notice. They eagerly entered what Adlai Stevenson had described a decade earlier as "Nixon Land -- a land of slander and smear, of sly innuendo, of the poison pen, the anonymous phone call, and hustling, pushing, shoving, the land of smash and grab, anything to win." They never looked back. Their crusade to destroy President Bill Clinton created an entire class of cruel, steely-eyed right-wing pundits whom the media covered like rock stars; even joined their ranks, until they were interchangeable -- all feeding like swarms of maggots on the soft underbelly of democracy. Clinton refused to play Texas politics and, to their bitter consternation, was the last man standing at the end of their embarrassing eight-year 24/7 onslaught. The harshest public criticism of the right-wing media/pundit cabal Clinton has made to date is a recent comment on CNN's Larry King show about the reception Special Counsel Robert Ray's report got when it was released showing the Clintons were innocent after a $70 million Whitewater investigation -- "They were on him like dogs in the night," Clinton said ruefully, then chuckled -- "they called him everything but a Blue Goose..." However, unlike Clinton, most opponents who dare to "get down" politically with Karl Rove rarely get up again. Rove opened the political door for the vacuous, mean-spirited George W. Bush by steamrolling popular former Texas governor Ann Richards --painting her as a drunk and a lesbian. And, in 2000, Rove proved far too wily for even a political veteran like John McCain when he roiled the campaign waters by questioning McCain's honor, integrity, patriotism -- even his mental stability. McCain's wife was a drug addict. For good measure, Rove threw in an illicit affair that resulted in an illegitimate African-American child. McCain's recent performance on the campaign trail and at the Republican National Convention leaves little doubt that he has "sold his soul to the company store," and calls to mind the 1776 admonition of Samuel Adams to those like McCain who quivered before those in power -- "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." By the time Republicans saddled up and headed into the 2000 election, the total breakdown and betrayal of fundamental journalistic principles by the mainstream media had occurred, AM radio was spewing hate like an East Texas gusher, and Karl Rove, with a string of tooth-and-claw victories under his belt, was riding shotgun on the entire herd. Rove's plan for Bush opponent, Vice President Al Gore, was simple -- "We will screw him. Do you hear me? We will screw him! We will ruin him. Like no one has ever screw him!" Karl Rove is out of control. He has gone beyond the pale and, quite possibly, beyond the law in leaks and attacks on those perceived to be a threat to the current regime. It's time for Americans -- both Democrat and Republican -- to wake up and face the truth -- we are struggling under the heel of a morally bankrupt, rabid right-wing, pre-World War II Germany facist cult. Trust me. They have no intention of voluntarily giving up the power for which they have lusted so long. They are coming at us. Coming for us. Like dogs in the night. I can think of at least 1,178 reasons why we need to meet them more than half way. We have no choice. We have one last shot at salvaging democracy as we know it. On November 2, we must jump on the John Kerry campaign Swift Boat, turn that baby around and blast headlong into them. It's too late to put the fun back into politics. However, because our young men and women are needlessly dying, and will continue to die if we remain silent, we must put fear aside and at least make the effort............... passed on with out comment.... Flight(s), I have some friends in Granbury, Texas, Doug and Tina Santiago, that very much need your prayers and words of encouragement. Doug was deployed to Iraq about six weeks ago. This past week, their daughter Valerie, who will be 18 next month, was diagnosed with Hodkgin's Lymphoma. Needless to say, Doug feels very helpless for his family right now. Tina has a web site made up for Doug where you can add a few words (which means a lot to Doug)in the Guest Book. Check it out at: http://www.dougnavy.net/index.html If you want to add your prayers, please do so....... I appreciate you taking your time to do it. Best Regards, Texas Tommy Waldrop Arlington, Texas

Mark, many know that my Jim has hereditary heart disease. Because we always knew it was possible that he inherited that gene from his mother, and then later knew for sure that he did, I have, for the most part, treated our marriage as if he could be taken from me tomorrow. I cannot even imagine after 35 years that I could not share my life with him. Ruth's death shows how quickly all can be taken from us. But then I don't need to tell everyone here that.......after all that the VietNam vet has been through. You all know how fragile life is probably more than I do. But sad news like yours is a heartbreaker. A card will be sent from Jim & I with prayers for healing from pain and peace of heart. Sue H.

The University of South Carolina's 39 year old retired Army Ranger, Desert Storm and Kosovo vet, college freshman, and father of 6, got into the game against Troy State tonight. He was in for the last 5 or 6 plays. I was listening on the radio and it sounded like the crowd went crazy when they realized he was in. The announcer was running down all the interviews he did last week after being cleared by the NCAA. Wonder if he hit somebody?

Hey Family, I have a request of you. Do it if you want and not if you dont. This guy who has worked for my dad for 40 years, lost his wife last night in an accident. We have heavy hearts in this AO. She was walking, leaving a local HS football game last night and got hit by a car. Care flighted to Ft Wayne and passed away this morning. Her name is Ruth and his is Charlie. They both were going to retire next year. I recall both of them being at Larry's funeral in 69. If you have time, it would be a kind jester from the 129th to send a card. If you choose to do so, just tell him that you are of the 129th and friends of Larry Jackson. His address is Charles Koesters,720 West Walnut St. Coldwater, Ohio 45828. She was a wonderful lady and I know that Charlie will be a broken man. We wont be able to cure his hurt, but at least he will know that there are some that he doesnt even know that feels his pain. He is a cold war Navy Veteran. God Bless him and his family. Glory,Praise and Honor be to the Father........always a brother......thanks in advance

Information: Physicians... a. The number of physicians in the US is approximately 700,000; b. Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year are 120,000; c. Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171 [statistics courtesy of US Dept. of Health & Human Services] Now think about this: Guns... a. The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000; b. The number of accidental gun deaths per year [all age groups] is 1,500; c. The number of accidental deaths per gun owners is 0.000181. Statistically, Doctors are approximately 900 times more dangerous than gun owners. Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do". FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN BUT, ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR. Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. Out of concern for the public at large, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.

I have to get a request form and set up an appointment and tell them why we are interested in the records. Then the board will make a decision whether or not a person can get in. Was dissappointing news. Was looking forward to seeing all the information I could find on the 129th. I got got stung on the personnel roster which 60% you couldn't read for a cost of $215.oo Larry Lackey donated towards the project. Greetings All…this is Hobie…I posted the Snopes article on the gas pump hoax. My last remark, “Don’t get fooled again…” was not a poke at JW, it was meant as a “caution” for EVERYONE. I work on the Internet every day. The Internet can be a very useful tool and a wonderful source of information that can enhance our lives. BUT there are also many lies, half truths, BS, faked/altered documents and pictures, scams, and “news,” that bear scrutiny before we take as truth and pass on what we see. I’ve been duped…the Camel Spider picture got me…I should have followed my own advice. No harm meant 129th…just be vigilant and “Check Six…” Thanks, Fred, I know you know.

Well flight, i've got good news and bad news. The bad news is the Static display helicopter in Mobile Alabama that I got the Cyclic stick out of for the Atlanta reunion got wiped out in the last hurricane. My buddy down there said he went by and it was flattened to the ground. The good news is he said he might be able to get me some of the remaining parts. He said he would go over tomorrow and see what he can salvage and will ship some parts to me. Home Depot? Seeing as how i'm one of the few Tony Stewart fans, That would be good for me. And Smitty like I said, I know you were just looking out for us. Ray, it was good talking to you today. Glad you got that GPS system working.....Rob

Hey Smitty, glad you are watching out for us. Thanks man, and dont call yourself an ass again in here or we'll have to kick you ass.;-) Well, Roger Austin has come and gone. He and his wife Donna arrived Monday night and then took off Tuesday afternoon. We had a great talk Monday evening and Tuesday I took them over to meet mom and dad, and then to the Pop-A-Top and then out to Larry's grave site. I have a picture of Roger, Billy Perri, And Elmer Holthaus from 35 years ago in Vietnam. He looked at it and then told me how odd it felt to see them then and to have visited them both in the last 2 weeks and then to be at our house. Lots of emotions came out. Roger told me what he remembered about Larry the most was that, here all us guys were over in Vietnam. It was hotter then heck and they all had sweat drenched shirts all the time. Then Larry would come along as if he had a built in air condictioner on him. He was always sqared away and every hair was always in place. That made me laugh because thats the way I remember larry. He always was slick, cool and put together all the time. Seems as if his hair would blow in to place, instead of out of place. Dang, just got a real bad rush of missing him. Gotta go

Fred, I am somewhat of an IT person if it stands for information technology. I was a field and customer support person. Helped people over the phone with problems with specific Kodak scanners. Almost all of which were production scanners. I just got back from the Secor Hardware where I purchased some stain to do my front deck, and I also put in an application. Rick,,,10-4 on the goods. Frenchie, we would like to get our bikes on the Watkins Glen track and go around also, but they keep an eye on it and chase people off when they do get on it. Besides, there are an awful lot of guard rails around that track which wouldn't be fun to hit. Well, off to staining the deck....

Fred S. I'm still here and looking and posting every now and then. I still haven't found a job but am still looking. In the mean time I have 6 1/2 rows of wood 15 foot long and 4 foot high all stcked up for this winter. I have almost completed my front porch project. It is 9 foot wide by 18 feet long. I tore the metal roof off and put a shingle roof on. Removed the 12 inch square fiber ceiling tiles, and will be installing a dropped ceiling using 2 foot by 2 foot panels. Removed all of the walls down to the studs. Replaced 4 windows of which one is a 4 foot by 6 foot picture window. installed drywall and all the joint compound and sanding that goes with that. Put 2 coats of sealer and then a coat of paint. I am now in the process of putting the beams in for the dropped ceiling. Shouldn't be too much longer now. Ray Gagner, Rick and I have made the switch and should be getting the right goods any day now. How are you and Gail doing? Hope everyone else is doing good.........Rob

Not to beat a dead horse, but I too was skeptical about the syringe posting that Jim Westwang had given us. Nothing against you Jim, I know you are just concerned. I sent your post to my Brother-in-law who lives in jacksonville and his reply is like the previous post. "I have heard of this myself before but not through the media in Jacksonville. There have been no alerts or warnings about this in the Jacksonville area. One point to be aware of is there is no Police Department in Jacksonville. They are Deputy Sheriffs down here. They refer to them as the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office. JSO is commonly used. Seems odd that the State of Florida and "local authorities" would ask a Captain to notify anyone by e-mail and not use television, radio and news papers. What about the poor suckers that don't have a computer? I think it is a hoax but it is still not a bad thing to be aware of. If it happened only a few people would have to get stuck before they would shut down all the gas stations in town. On 9-11 they grounded all the air planes in America within the hour. Thanks for the warning, I will be careful anyway. See you later, Bob.

Greetings All...read the following from Snopes.com...one of the Urban Ledgend Sites...regarding the gas pump warning: "This hoax urging caution when pumping gas appeared on the Internet in early June 2000. In common with other AIDS-infected needle scares (syringe attacks in movies houses and dance clubs and contaminated needles in payphone coin return slots), it plays upon our fear of contracting this dread disease through the pursuit of ordinary and harmless activities. "There is no Abraham Sands with the Jacksonville Police Department — someone just made up a name to make this "warning" look authoritative. No newspaper stories from that city make mention of Sands, which is unusual (to say the least) about a department's spokesperson; Jacksonville is served by a sheriff's office, not a police department; a phone call to the Jacksonville Sheriff produces the response that they've never heard of Abraham Sands; and he's not listed with the rest of the personnel on the City of Jacksonville Sheriff's Office web site. No news stories out of Florida confirm the e-mail's claim that 17 people have so far been injured by these attacks, the City of Jacksonsville Sheriff's Office says the whole thing is a hoax, and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta maintain they are not aware of any cases where HIV has been transmitted by a needle-stick injury outside of a health care setting." Don't get fooled again....

flight, hope everyone is ok, i got this in the mail, sent it to a few but thought i better post it>>>>VERY IMPORTANT EMAIL PLEASE PASS ON Read this before your next gas fill-up. This world gets sicker every day! Folks: Please take a couple minutes to read this warning about Gas Pumping Handles. Warning: Look at the gas pump handle BEFORE you pump your gas. Please read and forward to anyone you know who drives a car. My name is Captain Abraham Sands of the Jacksonville, Florida Police Department. I have been asked by state and local authorities to write this email in order to get the word out to car drivers of a very Dangerous prank that is occurring in numerous states. Some person or persons have been affixing hypodermic needles to the underside of gas Pump handles! These needles appear to be infected with HIV positive blood. In the Jacksonville area alone, there have been 17 cases of people being stuck by these needles over the past five months. We have verified reports of at least 12 others in various states around the country. It is believed that these may be copycat incidents due to someone reading about the crimes or seeing them reported on the television. At this point no one has been arrested and catching the perpetrator(s) has become our top priority. Shockingly, of the 17 people who where stuck, 8 have tested HIV positive and because of the nature of the disease, the others could test positive in a couple years. Evidently the consumers go to fill their car with gas, and when picking up the pump handle get stuck with the infected needle. IT IS IMPERATIVE TO CAREFULLY CHECK THE HANDLE OF THE GAS PUMP EACH TIME YOU USE ONE. LOOK AT EVERY SURFACE YOUR HAND MAY TOUCH, INCLUDING UNDER THE HANDLE! If you do find a needle affixed to one, immediately contact your local police department so they can collect the evidence. PLEASE HELP US BY MAINTAINING VIGILANCE, AND BY FORWARDING THIS EMAIL TO ANYONE YOU KNOW WHO DRIVES. THE MORE PEOPLE WHO KNOW OF THIS, THE BETTER PROTECTED WE CAN ALL BE. Rose Lambert Chief Aide to Supervisor Gerry Hyland Mount Vernon District, 2511 Parkers Lane Alexandria, VA 2230 PLEASE READ THIS AND PASS IT ON TO EVERYONE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK!!!! ain't it hell ????????? love & respects>>>>smitty

Ray, I behaved my self....but Ron Paye didn't. He never does. It was so bad this year that Gale, who took photos, cannot even post them on the site! But other than that, and his being hauled away to jail for a couple of days, it was great! Rainer and Dee showed up: both look great, but I could feel dee's wrist pain. Fred's Susie showed up on Saturday and......she's still very sassy! Had afew laughs at her expense. Mark was there w/o Dee....but she was "always on his mind." Gale baptised his brother-in-law by having him join us....he was quoted as saying "I'm never doing this again." Go figure. Fred brought his friend..he'll be back. Katherine and Rick joined us and actually hung around this year! Way to go you two! Joe met some Veterans from the 1st Log, which he served with in Nam, and is very excited about keeping in touch with them. He's not met any before...ah, Kokomo! The Master Baster out did himself this year! The food was great and there was plenty of it. The stars were out in the thousands and shooting all over the place(Don't think of fox-tails when you see a shooting star). there was even a full, very full, moon:>))). Just sitting around talking with friends-we were blessed. Quiet days and evenings with friends we are blessed to have. Mark the third week in September on your calendars for kokomo 2005. AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Kokomo...........what a great time. It is just so great to be a part of the family of the 129th. What a feeling. I spent most the time stareing at the ground or the fire just listening to all being said. Couple times they said to me, " Earth to Mark, Earth to Mark". On the way home I pass through the home town of James Dean. Fairmont In. Just a small burg. The American Legion there has a large prop from a ship, a Phanton F14 and a UH-1H Slick. I stopped and walked around the slick several times. Looking in each window. This thing still had the all the seats, sticks, gages, engine,I spent a lot of time peering in the left rear window of the cargo door imagineing Larry setting there. Then I would look forward to the pilots area to let me eyes see the same sights that Larry did..............and I went into a dream.

The National Personnel Record Center that is responsible for maintaining archives of our military records is automating their storage and management of our military records. When this is complete they plan to destroy the hard copies of the records unless requested by the veteran or a deceased veteran's family to send those records to them. If a veteran or members of the deceased veteran's family wants to request those records be sent to them instead of being destroyed he/she can make a request by mail to: National Personnel Records Center Military Personnel Records 9700 Page Ave. St. Louis, MO 63132-5100 or: make the request online at: http://vetrecs.archives.gov/ When you submit your request online, a signature form downloadable from the site can be sent to you for completion and submission. The National Personnel Records Center will then send you an e-mail acknowledging your request.

If you call me on my cell phone 317*856*6867 I can bring them to you. First come gets them. If coming by car you may want to bring a few chairs. You can leave them in you car, then if we are short we can get them. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Those not coming are fair game. You WILL be talked about. I will try and bring some real beer. As I remember, your daughter was going to move down near where "Ivan" came ashore, did she? and is she OK.. I hope so! Also Sandy, as I remember, you live in or near Indy, and that isn't very far from Kokomo. You ought to come on up for Saturday afternoon and evening as that is when the fun times are rolling!!.. Heck, as close as you live, that should work!!..Hey Wink!!.. Good to see you are OK down there. I understand they are about to have another shot at you though, so keep your head down!!.. Take care.. Well, I will be pulling out for Kokomo tomorrow afternoon and am hoping to find space to throw my sleeping bag as sleeping on the bike won't work. Fred, I was also at Phu Hiep with the 192nd at the end of '67. I drove a duce and half on a one-truck convoy over the hill into Vung Ro several times to pick up 2X4s for building material. Some kind of a shallow draft boat filled with 105 rounds would allow us to enter the hold and remove the 2X4 shoring material between the stacks of shells as they off-loaded. Hot work and the ride was a little scary. I remember crossing a bridge made of the floats like you see in movies of WWII. I showed a photo of the bay that I took from the road leading into the bay to one of my co-workers one day. He said he lived in one of the hooches in my photo at the time I was there. Small world. By the way his name is Bob Skaggs.

Hi guy's I have been gone for a while. Allot has happened in the last few months.....i have been awarded SSI disability benefits. And have moved to a smaller place. I will not be able to work any more. so my Wife and I thought it best to downsize. I am having allot of trouble with the VA ( imagine that) i have been examined by t doc's both say i have ptsd and now th eva wants proof. well as it goes one of the ptsd sysmtoms that i guess i have used is memory. I cannot remember any detail on the issues that caused this. I am in a delima, doc's say I have it VA wants proof, and i can not remember squawt. I have little recconition of names and places....I remember faces sometimes butehll, that was a long time ago. I remember getting some e-mails from some of you that were wanting information severa months ago. but honestly, guy's my memory is so bad about that part of my life it is awful. my Parkinson's has advanced and I do not get out of the house much any more. I have quit driving as well. so Hopefully I can keep up with what is going on in the flight log. guy's i need some help here. my mind is a blank doc told me that was my way of dealing with this trama. At one time we were all team mates and we depended on each other to get a job done and to watch each others back sides. Well, that is where I am today, I need your help. On another subject, this is how far I am in the VA process; it has been established that i was exposed to agent orange the following have been established hypertension on medication diabetes II on medication sural sensory neuropathy and no service connected is Parkinson's My civilian doc says it was probably because of the agent orange but that has not been determined by the VA. I am sure that most of u guys have been thru this hell with the va and any help or informatio will help me. If you can see clear, please e-mail me. The DAV is helping me with all of the paper work but they can not help me remember only you can ......please e-mail me so I can get this going. as we used to say in the unscheduled maint. team "SnowSnake MF" I am sorry i have been gone so long. the srtess of SOcial Secruity thing and Moving, Selling my home that i loved, etc. got me down so bad i sort of went inside and did nt want to come out. well thanks to my sweet wife i am outside again. Mark is because he's afraid of him, and Fred, Fred is because Gale brings Oreos. I on the other hand cannot be bought. I wish you could join us and help me string all three of those guys on the flag pole! Great news on Ivan, Wink!. How are the rest of our hurrican effected friends holding up out there? We wanted to do that Mark, but no one is sending Americans over to Europe on ex-pat basis. They`ll send them over for a week or two, but not much longer, they got a pretty big muslim population in Europe. And I think most American companies know we are into something long term in the Mid-East. So why send a American, when they can out-source most IT and High Tech stuff to India. They`ll work for 10 thousand dollars a year, with no benefits. So you come to conclusion,"All Good Things Come To A End". So you down shift and change your priorities and click your heels three times and say, "There`s No Place Like Home". Mark...Kim works for the French, and you KNOW they aren`t going to do us a ANY favors. More than likely, they hate the day that hired my wife.

Mark, the reason I ask where you went in Columbus, was because you were in my neighborhood. If you would have got off on Sawmill Rd. exit, and went north on Sawmill, between Hard Rd. and Powell Rd. There is a "gate community" called Heather Glen. We were the 3rd family to buy and lot and build a home up there in 1991, 6111 Ashleylynn Dr. I sure miss that place. The in-laws are coming down here in October, and we going to have "serious" conversation about coming home to Ohio. We`ve decided it`s time to "get out of the fastlane". Kim will finish her MBA at Meredith College( small Catholic all female)school in another 4 classes. Then we`ll try to find a little piece of land between the city of Delaware and Columbus, build a modest little home. Spend the rest of our time taking care of our parents. It`s football season in Ohio, and I`m homesick......But Ohio State will be in town this week-end to play NC State......scalper`s are asking $300 a ticket.....I`ll stay at home and order PPV for $14 and not get shot......They started a new thing down here at NC State......My team don`t win...I`ll shoot you.....Not Really....But a Camp Lejune Marine and his buddy got killed in the NC State parking lot after the game couple of weeks ago.......The boys that shot them were brothers and attended NC State.....I felt sorry for their mom........Senseless

His name is Roger Austin, from Maine. Was with the 129th samw time Larry was and ran with Robbie, Elmer Holthaus, Billy Perri, Bud Rainey anhd the likes that new Larry. Do any of you recall him? He has a real Maineish accent. He say to me, "Mock, How de ell ya duhin" He was in charge of collecting rocks for the pool at the 129th. Roger will be here Monday after Kokomo. Mark, I really enjoyed Larry's Bio. Good Job. I spent this last weekend at Watkins Glen at the Antique Car show and races. It is touted as the largest ever in the United States. Myself and 3 friends have been going there for the past 4 years. They race pre WW II cars and porsche's and corvettes and mustangs and camaro's and M G's and Triumph's and just everything you can think of. Mini Coopers, 4cyl, 6 cyl, 8 cyl. There were 2,3 wheelers too. Jaguars, Pantera's, 55 chevy's, there was a car called a Singer, and suprisingly didn't look at all like a sewing machine. The theme this year was M G's and there was every year and every kind of M G you can imagine. We spent 3 days looking at beautiful old cars and watching a lot of them racing. There is a spot on the track that the Narscar guys don't drive on and that is called the boot. We ride our bicycles through fields to get over there to watch and the sound is unbelieveable. They come screaming down a straight a way and into a sharp curve which goes right around you and then up another straight a way. When those V8 Corvette's and Camaro's and Mustangs come through there it makes the whole pace vibrate. The weather was great and we did some drinking had bon fires and it was great. I hope everyone else is doing good.... Rob

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Thought you might like to see what happened to me last week. I went to the Wal Mart the other day. I was only in there for about 5 minutes. When I came out there was a city cop writing out a parking ticket. I went up to him and said, "Come on, buddy, how about giving a guy a break?" He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. I called him a Nazi. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires. So I called him a piece of horse shit. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I abused him, the more tickets he wrote. I didn't give a shit. My car was parked around the corner. I try to have a little fun each day. It's important at my age.

I went by to visit Larry on his birthday. It was a sunny day, blue skies. Warm temps. I drove to the small cemetary outside Wabash. I was alone. I left the car running, with a Dionne Warwick cd playing "Walk On By." I don't walk on by any longer. I stop and look at the world around me. I marvel that life is full of twists and turns that eventually unite us all in one way or another. Larry is not forgotten. I straighten the tiny flags on the sides of his stone. I adjust the flowers that the wind has made crooked at some point in time. I take a penny from my pocket and put it next to his name. A penny for remembrance of a life that was over too soon. I silently thank Larry for allowing me to meet his brother, Mark. I know he realizes that I hold all the members of the 129th in high regard. Because of him, I have met many courageous and brave men in that unit. Isn't life strange? But isn't it also grand? Thank you Larry...and...a Belated Happy Birthday. Here's to you...

It was just off the bypass at Westerville on Rt 3. They have stores all around. If I were to go to one of the stores that you mentioned I would go locally. Usually we stock just about anything for anything, just happened to be that we used the box we needed the day before and hadnt got it back yet. Dad has well over a million dallors in parts in stock. Say "hi" to the "others" for us and let them know they also live in our hearts. And Happy Birthday to our other 129th family members:>)) Maybe we shouldn't post our ages:>)). LOL! I haven't really digested all of last Saturday yet, there was so much. So much. But the most miraculous part of it was to have Jim, our 129er, with us to be with Ann, our new sister and widow of Tom Shaw, a 129er, on Larry's birthday, as we went to honor our "fallen," on the day that was also the day of the 257 crash. Just think about that for a minute. I do not believe in coincidences. Rather, I beileve we are all very, very blessed to part of Mark's dream, this web site created to honor his brother and the rest of the 129th AHC. God bless you Mark, my brother and dear friend. Those poor folks in florida.Talked to my mom yesterday. she is still( and all her neighbors) without power( forecast to come back on thursday) and fresh water. She and the folks next door have the only two generators .People there are cooking over fires, using the woods for "personal hygene issues".Its hot and humid,no one has airconditioners. The good news is that there is plenty of gasoline now,the army reserves and guard units are still passing out fresh water and other supplies. My uncle, that lives in melbourne fla.,lost his roof( the shingles).Seems that they did a temp. repair.suppose to last about 6 months. The waiting list for a new roof in that part of florida in ONE year.Lets hope the newest hurricane misses all those already hurting.Wink, keep your head down and best of luck to you and yours down that way.Larry Lackee, looks to be headed your way in georgia.

Either post your desires or e-mail me at ragonese@delaware.net. I am not asking for anyone to commit, i am just trying to get an estimate of how many I should order. Happy birthday Larry.

Ann, glad you got the picture, i remember riding all the way to milwaukee hoping the glass wouldn't break. Welcome home. Today is my sisters 52nd birthday & the day i remember was the crash of 257. Slow salute to honor their memory. I know it is confusing as it is Sept 11 on one side of the world & Sept 12 on the other side so i looked at the Picture i took of Larry Jacksons' grave stone when we were together there this summer & it says Sept 12 1969. No mind, but my sis birthday is what i use to remember, she was 17. Hope everything was great at Kokomo ,wish i could have come. Hope all involved in this Hurricane thing remain safe & sound (when will they stop). See a lot of stuff on c-span today.Vietnam Vets at the capitol, protesting Mr. Kerry. No big opinions from me as i get confused by it all but just saw it thats all. in my eyes Today is for remembering 257, its' Gallant crew & not that other stuff. Respects; smitty

Saturday was indeed a beautiful day at the Highground. What a neat place that is. The grounds are getting more and more beautiful as they mature. There was a stack of stones waiting to be placed in the walk. These stones as purchased in honor of or in memory of veterans. The stones are about 12" square and carry a brief message such as the unit, name, rank, etc. or in some cases "father, son, husband" etc. It will be quite an experience when all the area possible is covered with veteran stones. And what is it about the 129thers - that we can pick each other out in the blink of an eye even though we've not seen each other before. And the instant connection! It was good to share this important time with Ann, Joe and Judith. No wonder those of you who has been to the reunions, Kokomo, and on this website for a longer time call each other "family". The more Jim & I experience it all, the more connected we feel. And those chimes with the names of the fallen Wisconsin soldiers add to the importance of the bronze statue showing an Army nurse, Native American and two other VietNam soldiers. When Jim gave Ann the 129th patch, it was important to him as well as for Ann. With Joe's prayer, and Judith's thoughtfulness to bring a garland to wrap around the soldier's shoulders, who could not be touched. Oh, boy....you have us hooked! The blessings continue to mount as we lean on one another. Have a great week everyone!

The skies were clear, the sun was warm and strong, and the day was picture postcard perfect at the Highground in Wisconsin. My second visit to the site was made most memorable by sharing it with new found comrads, Sue and Jim, Gently and Joe. We got down on our hands and knees to find my husband's name on the windchime memorial, with a little help from the visitor's center directory. Joe led us in prayer and we placed a patriotic garland, which Gently had not surprisingly brought along, across the shoulders of the bronzed soldiers. It felt so good to stand with others who cared as much as I. It was 34 years after the fact, but not too late for me. The picture of my husband that rode with Jim Westwang all the way to this year's reunion found its home at last! Jim and Sue gave me a 129th patch and Judy gave me a 129th pin. Both are treasures. After hugs in front of the memorial Joe pressed a medallion into my palm. It spoke of the angels among us. Now I think I know why they call her Gently. Just wanted to share one of the miracles of this website. Thanks everybody. Ann

Hi Flight, Gale, the medics at the dispensary in Dong Ba Thin were made up of members of headquarters co 10th BN, 17 TH GROUP, First Aviation Bge, the 130th Med Det {117th assult Helicopter Co}, and 433rd Med Det (129th Assult Helicopter Co}. Usually, three medics of 433rd stayed with the unit in forward area and Doctor with 5 medics stayed at Dong Ba Thin. When the forward unit moved to Lane in May of 67, the three medic that came to Lane Were Ricky Koebel, Leslie Paul Garrison and myself. There was a dispensary already there staff with medics from the company we replaced there. {They had left Ft Bragg about two months before. I don't remmember the company number or detactment number there. I was there about 6 weeks and I usually took patients to hospital in Qui Nhon or put the clorine in the water tank.

The great way is without difficulty save for picking and choosing. For only when you stop liking and disliking will all be understood. If you want to get to the plain truth, be not concerned with right and wrong the CONFLICT between right and wrong is a disease of the mind.

Hey, hey everybody. Hope all is well with all. All is well here. I see we are to post Bio's. Thought I'd better get mine in before my birthday comes and goes. Not that I care what age I am:-) I love being this age!(I'll explain later) I look at it this way. Man starts to get older from the very first breath that he takes. So to me, getting older is old stuff, and doesn't affect me at all...........Born in the state that is high in the middle, and round at the edges. 1948. Small town. Kind of like that Mellencamp song. Small family. #2 of 4. Younger sister died at 9 months old in 1954 with complications from birth. 1 brother older, 1 brother younger. Was always closer to my younger brother.Matter of fact, still am. We go and do everything together. Our older brother is a smart guy and liked school. School and me never did get along. Just wasn't cut out for it. Knew that I would have a job in the family busniss, so quit school at 16. My dad used to call me and my budies hoodlums. Shoot, I just did what every other red blooded American young man did back then. Patterned my life around Jims Dean, a young Marlen Brando and Elvis. Friday nights we would put on our white tee-shirts, slide into our skin tight blue jeans, put on our boots, put on our black leather jackets, flip the couler up, put a hand full of "Wild Root" hair cream in(remember that white stuff, mom used to buy it by the gallon with a push pump on the top), put a hoot owl wave on both sides in the front, and a duck tail in the back, put a pack of smokes in our sleeve, put gas in the 56 ford, got beer, and headed out to Egdewater Park dance hall. Look for a fight to start, fight, and then go back in the dance hall and drink beer with the guy you just got in a fight with. Ha:-) Ahhhhh, the good ole' days..........Here's a lil' story about the greased down hair and my younger brother. One of my friends and I bought some "Sears SilverTone" guitars. The kind that the case was the amp. Remember them? They are worth a lot of money now. Jay Giles playes one is his video "Freeze Frame"...anyways. My friend and I stopped trying to learn how to play the guitar and our little brothers picked them up. The Beatles were getting big back then so our little brothers started a band. They washed the Wild Root out of their hair and let it dry and hang down like the Beatles. When my friend and I saw them we said, "you guys look like the Shaggy Dog", (a movie at the time) Needless to say, their first band was called the "Shags". They were pretty good. Matter of fact, they both still play and have been in numerous bands together. Both
