Hello everyone, just wanted to check in and say I don't care if something is spelled right, it is the feelings that count here to me. I agree that it is harder at our age to loose so many more friends & family. Of corse along with that I feel way more pain seeing the way many are treated by the country after being told they have cancer & 15% chance to live but have to keep working. I spent most of today at the VA, now they want another EMG & other test. Yet I have to be so thankful for serving in Nam and the VA. I wish you all could say the same thing if you need help. Again my heart goes out to all who have lost someone.

It certainly is a sad time for our 129th family...now the loss of Alex's sister... as he himself said, we're in that age group now...the age group where we start losing loved ones. Alex and Liz.....my deepest sympathy. It's been a tough couple of years for you 2..and yet you step up to lead us...you step up to encourage us to attend the re-unions so we can meet each other, and in the case of you 129ers see your brothers of "old" once again. You have been our role models and strength...let us be there for you now in whatever way you need us. God Bless. Art, please pet the remaining love of your life for me...sounds like a wonderful companion. To all----you're a brotherhood--I'm proud to be part of the 129th family. L-Gently

Alex, Art, sorry to hear about your losses. unfortunatly we are getting to that age when friends and loved ones go thru the doorway to a better place and leave us behind. just remember they ARE in a much better place, and one day we WILL join them again. Alex, call me, I don't have your number anymore for some reason. Later, Don

Well it seems to go on. On sunday we had our sister Angie whom passed away from cancer in Akron,Ohio. She is this 1st in our immediate family. So, that makes it hard. But, I guess it never gets any easier. She will be missed but, like all those whom have passed on. They won't be forgotten. It's been a rough year on the 129th family. Always A Brother!! Hey Gang! Mark, glad you got your brother home - sounds like you'll have your hands full. We'll keep him in our prayers. Got to spend 2 1/2 hours in the Motor Vehicle Department yesterday, but sat next to the area where uniformed military stand (they have their own counter) and got to talk with several of them. Just re-enforces what a tremendous generation of soldiers we have! Professional, polite, and dedicated! And they were very respectful of Vietnam vets. While our politicians may be lacking, we are in good hands with our military! God bless them! Bill

Good to see all the chatter gang. Got my older brother home from Hong Kong last weekend. Hired a traveling nurse escort to do so. I wasn't going back over there. Drove right from the airport to the hospital here in Coldwater. Doing new test on him. He has non-curable liver disease. So don't know what to expect from it all. He is still pretty confused. The man has 3 or 4 degrees in a couple different things but cant even write him name right now. It's a shame, but that's the trail he faces. Seems to be improving daily. What I do know is that his and my relationship as brothers has jumped from nothing to Love in 4 days. I'm diggin; that. havnt have a blood brother since Larry got killed. Dave had already left to start his life long career of going to school. As I said, I'm loving having a brother again. I mean I got you guys but , well you know what I mean.........Kim, I havnt forgotten' bout your walking stick. Thanks for your patience and forgive me for being so tardy on it.....Fred Skaggs? You been following High school football this year? Coldwater plays Youngstown Cardinal Mooney for the state title over on the other side of the state next Saturday. We are 13-1 they are 14-0 and ranked number one in the state. Coldwater's coach said we are playing the best football they have played all year..........Good to see of you quite ones chime in lately. He's from San Antonio,TX. He's about 150 miles north of Laredo. He has come down once & visited. He retired as the rank of 1st SGT from the Army.

Our family celebrated Thanksgiving late this year so my wishes to you are a day late. Here's a toast to all my 129th comrades and their families. I lift my glass to you and to all the vets of past and present wars. I salute you. Special thoughts to out to the homeless vets. Here's hoping the American government will realize the tragedy of letting these vets slip through the cracks. How can the people who govern this nation live with themselves? It's a great nation but I'm ashamed of the government. That's my thought.

Wishing the 129th family a most happy thanksgiving,a prayer for those watching over us and hugs to you all. I will be taking out of here before first light in the morn.Headed for Flint Mi. on the first leg of my 2 weeks out.JP, was very cloe to your place this week, rolled across Missouri and Ark. Reunion heads up for smokers...Missouri prices it smokes very cheaply. I bought four cartons at 25 bucks each. Most brands are priced very near this level. In some states I have been in,they are 60 bucks a carton. Laredo Texas..just got back from there...across the border,"boys town" is doing well and still there. Beers are a buck, women are now 20 bucks, wasnt told about drug prices.I didnt go over, I am now a "good boy". The federalies now patrole the area in pick up trucks with crewed machine guns mounted in the back bed area. Times have changed but some are the same. We all have seen deer, possums, ect, laying dead next to the roadways.Comming across Pa I saw a BEAR that had been freshly hit.Didnt see what hit it,but bet it was dented up a bit. crossed the mississippi river 4 time last week. Been from NY City,to Laredo Tx,up state NY,Pa, Iowa ,st. louis ect. Folks , we are blessed with a beautiful country and great, kind folks, everywhere.

While on my journies these past 3 weeks, I found myself in Allentown Pa.Having an old friend, a good friend, from the army at Carson, and a few years after,I looked in the 'book" for his parents addy/telephone no.Called and had great chat. He and I,and 2other guys, were a very close circle of Nam Vet friends. the one friend I was the melesst to,I ask about. Seems he is now a homeless , street person, living in Denver Colorado. This guy was a grunt, airborne and all that,CIB,ect. This really distresses me. One cannot find a more kind, giving person than my friend Mark Morton. Mark liked his beer,as did all of us. I got his wife,Patty and him together. She was the love of his life, the only woman Iever knew him tobe with. mark thought of himelfas ugly, due to pimple scars from his youth. Patty made him complete.his inner lonliness was gone, replaced by joy and love. Patty liked her beer as well. All of us friends from the circle, drifted from one state to another, doing jobs, living together sometimes, all ways partting together, alwas sharing holidays, fun and peronsonal tradgies. After i left \the group, the circle of trusted friends, patty caught pneumonia and died. Mark was devestaded.Hehad her creamated, remains placedin a jar,he alway kept with him.20 yearsago i lost touch with the circle, till 2 weeks ago.I intended to find this man. he does not deserve his fate.

Slow Hand Salute to Dave Fesmire of the VHCMA. He passed away this morning from terminal cancer. He was diagnosed with cancer about 3 weeks ago and the Dr's said he had about 3 months. Dave inspired all of us Unit Coordinators to look for the guys that we served with. He had 100+ of his Dark Horse men at the reunion in Orlando this year. He will be sadly missed. Information will be posted on the VHCMA website hopefully in the next day or so where you can send cards to his wife Karen and their family. Please keep them in your prayers. Always a Brother, Alex

November 14, 1968 I ETS'd from Ft Campbell Ky. My wife & I had lived there off post in a trailer court since June of 68. We had the 67 Mustang GT Fastback(390c.i., 325hp, 4-sp)packed to the gills and ready to hit the road as soon as I cleared the base. Life was good! That was Vickie, my first wife 11 years. Then my second wife LuAnn for 20 years. Now I'm on my third wife.....Debbie, my "wife for life". I searched a long time for her and life is good again! Joe, thanks for the info on Gently and thanks for your thoughts for all of us. The same feelings are extended to you Brother! Gale

I forgot where he will be but if you listen to KOOL-FM I am sure they will tell us all again. Have a great Thanksgiving, looks like we are going to go camping and spend the weekend out on the desert. we will deep fry a turkey and eat till we are miserable. :-D Later, Don

The Droop Cam Compensator rolled over, a piece that kinda looks like the cam on a compound bow but flatter. it is by the fuel control & responsible for maintaining engine RPMS as more power is pulled. PP had the aircraft, we began to lose eng & rotor RPM. AC grabbed collective & slammed it down, then pulled all pitch at 15-20ft. skids up around gun mounts, ends main rotor blades hit & broke off. Mark I wanted to add a couple things to what Dale said about the flight controls. I should remember better after all the years rigging them. Still it has been a while even though I thought the movement was slightly further. Just setting without the engine running you can move the Cyclic Stick easier while the collective is pushing a lot more without the hydraulics to help. The best thing if you get the chance is to watch what happens if someone holds the colective all the way up and lets you walk the blades around to see what happens to the pitch of each blade while thinking how the aircraft in moving forward. When you get them 90 degrees from the airframe you have the advancing & retreating point. The cyclic really comes in to the plain level if your flying straight ahead. Now try to think if you were flying at a 130 knots, Rotor RPM in the RED going into retreating blade stall. If your lucky you will see the blades seem to stop, if not you will hear a noise like none other as the main drive shaft breaking into a thousand pieces. I forgot the math but it comes down to the speed of the aircraft plus the speed of the blade and the retreating blade minus the speed of the aircraft. I used to do weight and balance for aircraft too. It is a surprize as you get two new helicopters and the CG isn't the same because of empty weight. Hay when we all get together again I hope the 509 will be there to show you all the tricks.

Here is hoping everyone had a great Veterans Day.. Mark, the collective is hinged in the rear and should have no side or end movement. As I remember, it could be pulled up in the area of abt 6 inches but that may really be far off.. Once a cruise was set there usually was not much movement required and after it was set a little change in cyclic to either speed up or slow down a bit was enough to keep from moving the collective again till a decent ot climb or major speed change was initiated. The engine throtle was on the collective and when it was full on you used the beep button to controll or set the RPM. A device called the "droop compensator" kept the engine RPM at a set point when power was either added or decreased. True, the higher the collective is pulled the more pitch applied to the rotor blades. Now, read up on the "swash plate" and how it applies the pitch to the blades as they go around to controll direction of flight.. Have fun.. C Ya.. Kal..67/68..

Got a mechanical question about the Huey. The Collective control stick. As I sat in the Huey at Kokomo this year I was playing with the collective control. I noticed that it barely move front to rear and left to right. Does the movement of the stick have any bearing on control of the ship what so ever? And did the one at Kokomo just move slightly because it was in a static position? I read in the ST 55-165 ( UH-1 Systems and Components manual) that when the sticks are "UP", main rotor blades are at high pitch and when "DOWN" the blades are at low pitch. Question is how much movement was "UP" and "DOWN". I know it has the power control on it and some switches such as starter, governor, idle stop , landing light and search light. Just wondering about it's movement.

Good morning to all and respects to all on Vetrans Day.-----------------After reviewing the various comments the past week it is clear that there many opinions and a lot of emotions for all of us.----------------------For my 2 cents-----having proudly served with the 129th through good and bad times, then working with the B-1B and Space Shuttle program for eight years, and more recently working as a firefighter for Tn. and the Emergency Rescue Squad for the police department I have multiple feelings about Vetrans day and "hero" postings.-------------------Even though Vetrans Day is for the living I find myself reflecting on Brothers lost and memories past. (This holds true for all other holidays as well) Memorial Day causes a more direct reflection on losses and regrets.---"Hero" brings to mind a multitude of thoughts and respect for all that have gone "above and beyond" to serve others, both in war and civilian catagories.---------We all have our opinions and I try to respect each.---Commercialization of holidays is a side effect of many that look for $$$$ to be made from actions and events of others.(right or wrong). --I guess you could say that a father simply soothing the tears of a child would be considered a hero by the child at that point and the same father may have given his life while doing his duty with the (129th) or others and is considered a hero by us.-------------Enough of my ramblings---------Bless All ----------Have a great day and remember God, love, honor, family, friends, country, Vetrans,Hero's, and my heros-(you)the 129th.--------------snoopy out-------

Good evenin' to all Bite N'strikerz..Here's wishing you & yours a safe & happy Veterans Day. Tomorrow my son Sgt.L.P.Adams will be marching with his fellow Iraqi Freedom Vets in New York City, but not before a memorial service at "Ground Zero"in lower Manhattan. Elke & I plan on attending this opportunity to honor those who served,& those still serving our nation. I'm still concerned about the constant confusion over this holiday: Vetreans Day is for the LIVING veterans...Memorial Day is for the deceased veterans. By the way, this weekend is the 25th Anniversary of the dedication of the Vietnam WALL in D.C. God Bless America! Clear Left, lenny!

gale, ken, my feelings 100% a lot of eople have no idea what VETERANS DAY is all about. thats because alot of schools are not teaching the meaning of this country an what it stands for.and what it means to be a veteran anthe honor to service this country , right or wrong.thats why i beleive that evrybody should spent two years in the service. this way every citizen will get a frist hand look at the rest of the world an realize how lucky we are to be born in this country. this is my oppinion and not sorry for it. if i offend anyone, well to bad. i respect other peoples opinion wheather or not it agress with mine. so my opinion should be respected as well so i have nothing to be sorry about. but we have earned that right. too all, have a good veterans day an hold your head up high. wink 3/69- 10/70

Gale well I agree and have the same commercial running here, not sure if it is the same chain. While in the service I guess it was just considered a part of the job to go into harms way. Or after James Town the unit that went to recover the bodies all got medals which I felt was wrong because it was thier job. Many times the 114th Avn in Panama went off to other countries to help and retrieve the dead from so many things. That was the crews job on those Hueys & doubt it was even on the news in the states. I do see a hero in a place like this when a nephew fell through the ice and a police officer dove into the freezing water to save his life & they were both in the hospital. In my mind it is someone who made a choice to do something great for others. I am not sure if it was like a pilot and I making a choice to fly a medivac mission at 1 AM to a mountain 9,000 feet high in less than good weather a choice, it was our job. If we had scewed up and gotten killed it wouldn't have made the news. Most likely in would have ended up in the Army's Safety report as pilot error. For me I don't want to be called a hero for serving in a war because it makes me feel unworthy. I will always see what my father did during WWII as a thing I could never match up with and we were the lucky ones who came home. This is still a day to honor all those who served and those who never came home, not to lump it together with everyone else they can think of. Everyone these are my feelings about the adds on TV and the word hero!

The Word Hero: When asked to define the word hero, many people will have many different answers. ... The American Heritage dictionary defines the word hero as: “1. ... Many people share the traits defined in the word hero, but very few of them actually meet, let alone exceed, the requirements of being a hero. The first definition of hero given by the American Heritage Dictionary of English Language is, “In mythology and legend, a man, often of divine ancestry, who is endowed with great courage and strength, celebrated for his bold exploits, and favored by the gods. ... The Greek legend Hercules is an example of a hero defined by this entry. Known as the greatest hero of Greek Mythology, Hercules was the son of Zeus and a mortal woman. ... Based upon the definition, Hercules certainly seemed to fit the description of a hero. The problem is that Hercules is a fictional hero. ... A hero should be someone that endured true-life experiences. The second definition of hero given, " A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life: soldiers and nurses who were heroes in an unpopular war. Flight, I'm writing this note not to offend or hurt anyone. I simply am confused at the "new" way that the people of this Country use the word "Hero" all year round. While I believe in respecting those serving in the military and the police, firefighters & rescue squads...........I have trouble using the word hero for everyone. I reserve that the word is, first and utmost, for the deceased brothers & sisters of these groups. I agree that there are heros among the living in all these organizations and definitley should be reconcognized and honored...................................................................however, (here's where I'll probably start catchin' hell) whether they are going to refer to us military veterans as heros or not.......................................................... Veteran's Day is our day!!!! This is what got me started. A Veteran's Day ad on TV for a local furniture store is offering a" 7% discount for all heros this weekend....which is "military vets, active military, police, firefighters, rescue units and ALL FAMILY MEMBERS. Am I being petty? Isn't this "our" Veterans Day put aside for "our" sacrifices? On the other hand, Rural King stores are offering a 10% discount for all Veterans and you must show an I.D. for proof of military service. I'm sorry, but, I just had to get this off my chest..........right or wrong. I'd like to take this time to wish all my 129th Brothers & Sisters a great Veterans Day weekend and a our 129th AHC fallen heros a very, very slowhand salute.....................................................Gale.

If I can keep remembering things maybe someone else might also. I remember a Captain I flew with a few times. I also remember being on an LZ unloading Koreans when one of them jumped out with a radio on his back and the ant popped up into the main rotor blade and we shut down to inspect the rotorblade. I also remember while in guns we would go out for parctice and I would always fire into the stream we were flying parall to. I also remember being on the ground with smoke when the polits were doing auto rotation practice. Didn't get much sleep last nite, all these things we did kept me up. Everyone have a great day.

I have one more bracelet put together and I will be donating it to the 129th Christmas fund. unless I can find some more chain this will be the last one I will be able to donate. (I have been looking everywhere I can think of short of buying new chain and have been unable to get anymore.) SOOOOOO if you would like to have a Vietnam era chain bracelet (the chain came home with a high school friend of mine in 1969)he gave it to me with the condition that he got the first bracelet which he did. so the last one will go to a 129ther. Brothers, just to let you know that me and my family made it through the wild fires here in San Diego. It was a wild ride for awhile. Does anyone remember Alberto Gurule? I was checking the rosters and saw his name I had no idea that a cousin of mine was in the same unit with me in 68/69.

I found this site by accident. I was searching for a shoulder patch of the 129th for my shadowbox display. I am glad I did fine it, it has helped alot. I am trying to file benefits with the VA and I am having to prove everything. I was ask why I didn't receive wings for being a crew member. I couldn't answer that. I need to find someone that I flew with in the gun plt. We did do strffing missions and the VA said if I could find someone that would write be a statement and have it certified would be prof. My MOS was a chemical staff spec. My MOS was never changed but I flew as a gunner anyway. I tried being a Police Officer for about 5 years and I gave it up. It was getting as bad as Nam. I have been in Electronics now for about 25 years and I will retire within the next 2 years. So I am trying to get something to retire with. I also do Computers. I have a web site, www.webshopper.name if anyone would like to look at it. I was hoping this would be my retirement but it hasn't worked out that way. I think of the 129th all the time and it has only been in the past ten years that I could talk to my wife about it. I feel that more of our buddies need to do the same. God Bless all and take care

Good to see you post again Ellis.-------QUESTION !!! ---for 67-69 people---Anyone know or remember a Johnie E. Garrett from Union City,Tennessee.---------I was talking with the director of the company offering me a position a little while ago and found out her brother was there during that time.---She said he moved from armor cav to air and was sent over. -------She said he is extremely reluctant to discuss with her and she intends to introduce us in the future.----I realize the odds of him being in the same unit may be slim but---Hey------ don't hurt to check!. If I can help even one more person out there it makes it worth while.-------------PS--I may wind up with the NE USA area also instead of just the southeast.--------------Will make use of extra territory to stop in more places in the future.

James Ellis, and for that matter, any new guys in here, welcome to the page!! Glad you came in.. Welcome Home!!.. Well, reading your post on the happenings back then covers just about any day over there.. The second platoon covered the area from Lane south to the Miami Beach area, just north of Phu Hiep(?), and the first platoon was mostly from Lane north to the northern end of the Phucat mountains and inland to the pass, and both platoons were known to pull missions in the other's area. There were a lot of pinnical operations in both areas as the outposts were mainly on the hill/mountain tops. I also think the gunship crash you were refering to was near Phucat AF base and if I remember right was piloted by Doug Marr. I believe all came out of it OK. I don't remember who else was on the ship. Now, as I stated in my email to you, we have several reunions/get togethers each year, and they are an excellent place to start in the quest to remember the past and renew our long ago friendships. Most of us here have been here for a while now and have found this place to be a gathering of "old familey" members. For a lot of us it is like finding long lost brothers again and some pretty close ties are made. Feel free to say just about anything and ask any questions that you may have. I know with me, the memory channels are not what they used to be and a recalled phrase here and there brings back a flood of memories.. So, ask away!!.. and have fun.. Welcome Home and to the site.... Love and Brotherhood.. Kal...67/68..

I have looked at the roster for 68. I did find my name but I can't remember any of the names I saw. Most of the time the name tags on the uniform was covered with the armored plateed vest that we wore. The only wounded person I remember was a buddy in the gun platoon. They were working on the gunship when a rocket fired and went between his legs and messed up a knee .The last I saw of him was in the hospital. Their was a gunship that was flying low and crashed on an early morning strike for the Koreans. I was on the south side of the compound and I have no idea what was over the hill on the north side of the compound.

James, sorry...I crewed slicks for a while was in maintenance down on the light line. I do recall a guy with the last name of Denault that went to the gun platoon. Matter of fact he was wounded while there. Seems to me it was his left shoulder. Have you gone to the rosters in the gallery of this site? There's a bunch of names in there from our years.......it may bring some memory back iffen you read thru them. Welcome home James, Gale Beard

Thanks for the responce. I don't remember the paltoon I was in after the Corba's so the best way is to describe some of the flights we took. 1. We were flying the Korean Op Officer around the are and we alost set the bird down in a mine field, so we flew over to a rice patty field and put the front of the skids on the mound seperating the fiels and the op officer walked the skids to the area he wanted to go to. 2. Flying the Korean Op officer again all day to different areas and we took him back, when we lifted off we came in the path of some 155's ready to fire. 3. We were flying supplies to a mountain top and about the 3rd trip and the ship was being reloaded I told the AC that I smelled GAS. As we were over the drop site the last boxwas CS GAS. Lucky the AC had the Polit put on his mask just as we started the unload which all supplies were kicked out of the ship because we couldn't land. 4. On another trip out I was told to fire into a cave on the beach were VC had been seen. I also flew several other missions some at nite to deliver a time table for an assult and when we returned to base they had to take me back up and come down slower because my ears were hurting so bad. I would like to say that I flew with very good men, Officers and enlisted. I would do it all over again.

Flight, this is something that you all might to read...or copy for futur use. Gale Gentlemen Regarding display of 509 in DC... Please read the below VERY carefully... This matter came to us via Legislative Liaison channels because Gale Beard asked his Senator to assist. My best advice is: do the same thing when you are ready to try again... BUT Insist that the Senator send it to the Department of Interior (Not DOD) because they own the park. You will also have to be involved with the "park police" and the US Secret Service for public and VIP "safety" reasons. You will also have to be involved with "TSA Waivers" (571-227-3788) they own airspace transit. You will also have to be involved with Nat'l Capital Region Control Center (NCRCC 703-563-3221) they are the FAA folks. You will also have to be involved with DCA facility control (703-413-1533). AGAIN, it is VITAL that you begin in the right place (the Senator's office) and that he direct you to the right place (Dept of the Interior) and that you are prepared to help the Park people with the other info I've provided. Your initial request was sent to DOD because someone thought that you wanted DOD to provide the Huey... Sometimes people don't read the actual request and they start trying to help before they even understand the request. You can avoid all of this by making sure that your request STARTS in the right place and STAYS in the right place. Dept of Interior will likely insist that this is a DOD issue... It is NOT. Your success will rely on the Senator's office making the proper first contact and requiring that "Interior" handle from start to finish. Good luck... Colonel Greg S. Huey is in the UK today. Unfortunately we had to cancel our Project for Huey to park near the Vietnam Wall for the November Anniversary Ceremonies as we were struggling with gaining the necessary permissions at Washington Park in time for Huey to be shipped across. We had a very generous offer from a Cargo Company to ship the Huey across in one piece but unfortunately it takes 11 days and sadly we had not received the permissions when the shipment date had to be met. However, we would still very much like to be able to bring our Huey across and land her at the Wall, possibly in the Spring, on behalf of the 129th AHC and other helicopters companies for whom the Huey meant so much. Fred, thanks for your concern about Donna, she isn't much better. than she was in Phoenix. In fact in Oct. 06 she had to go back to the hospital and have all the artificial arteries that they put in before removed and start over down the other side. (if that makes sense). she has been out of the hosp. for over a year (the good news) but she still hurts a lot and sleeps a lot too. if we go shopping or to visit she is down for the next 2 days. so we just keep on plugging along as best we can. everyone have a safe Veterans day. Back from Hong Kong. Actually got back Saturday night. Just now realizing I'm back. Fast trip with not the results I expected. The idea was to get my brother back here to be hospitalized then in rehab. Couldn't. t get him out of Hong Kong Immigration has him under investigation because he overstayed his visa by 9 months, As they were saying " This a problem". I did get him into a hospital over there just before I flew home. So many things got in the way of our return. At one time we were 4 security code locked doors deep in the Kong Kong immigration office I was beginning to think we would never get out. It was as if, and actually was, trying to smuggle my brother out of the country. I had know idea of the visa problem until I landed in Hong Kong. My brothers people were not telling me lies. They just didnt tell me the whole truth before I got there.............more latter. Is good to be back in the states. I was not impressed with Hong Kong at all. Its filthy and crowded. Soon as I got back to the cabin I hung a new American flag up and saluted it and gave thanks for this GREAT country God has placed me in................always a brother.......

Alvis I have said before I wish I had your way with words. What I enjoy most from you and anyone else is bringing up a memory that I can relate to or makes me think of things forgotten. The connection to the 129th and Lane's AO is one that we have in common. My VA doctor said I need a hobbie but couldn't really say that this is the place I like to come to. Dennis I liked the magnetic patch idea as I just have it blown up and laminated on my windshield. I do who a place to ask about them here. I got my diesel for $3.199 yesterday and saw one for tax exempt over that, others @ $3.50 which is way over gas. It just means I can't afford to go anywhere when it takes over a hundred bucks to fill up my truck. WOW!

Fred the next thing as "must have" is a Garmin Street Pilot.Dispatchers are famous for wrong directions so now I just ask for the street address.I pass more Schnieder trucks than I can count, cuz my truck is set @ 72 mph, must be able to do speed limit.Call me anytime @ 863-602-4043. I am willing to talk u thru a sleepy tired nite any time, or just to shoot the BS. If u are in FL,GA, SC, TN,or SC and see Southpoint Trk 0630, just holler at me. Don't go far from home any more but I still average 3100 miles per week. Can't do much more than that cuz of Electronic logs. As for markings, I have a 129th magnetic sign I keep on the bottom of my driver door. Made it myself. More trucking stories later, must get my 10 sleep brak in. Dennis

Easy laughter, Old warriors reflected sprit. passed warriors, sat there too. next to old friends, way to few. smoke dancing, pines a popping. late into the night, easy laughter non stopping. brotherhood of the gun, or is it blood. shared danger, tears in the mud. mist of time, shares the smoke. see a face, rememer a joke. passed brothers, amused by our talk. Bless our brothers, they did the walk. some went to hell, to fly the firey skies. wait for me brother, I will be by your side. empty beer cans, abandend youth. the smoke dances, we know the truth. hell waits for me, brothers make space. we did what we had to do, sending others to that place. Into hell I will walk, head held high. Looking for my brothers, listening for a warriors cry. step aside demon, out of my way. warriors I seek, they have paved my way. honor is their code, death is their job. some passed early, death did rob. cast aside evil, warriors I seek. away you devils, away you weak. brotherhood of the gun, or is it blood. smoke dances, late night memories.

( one could be fired for that). Somehow we need to get the word out about us and this site. As you know, the older we get,we begin to look back over our lives. While many maintain they want to forget it,others may be searching for our fellowship, or their familys. I am sure most of you, like myself, gain a great deal of satisfaction and graditude when a family member encounters us.In some cases, it closure for both parties. The ones I feel bad for,and makes me a bit heartbroken, are the one that come to the reunions searching for someone that knew their family member, without success. That happened to us at Kokomo this year, if you remember. Aviation groups are so few and far between. That, and the way Americian society hammered on us back then, its a wonder this many folks are here at all. peace my brothers.

Good morning to all my brothers out there. Wow with Alvis on the road things sure have dropped off on here. My computer is up and running except for the files that I am locked out of, the GEEK guys said they would fix it for only a $156. Anyway wish I could write like Fred to get you all talking. Even my email folder is empty. Left with that all I can add is I hope that everyone is busy with good things going on. The VA increased my Morphine and I was able to get around without a cane for about half the day on Friday. You all take care!

Mark, hang in there Bro... It's agonizing to see someone close to you crater so fast. Praying is about all you can do, and we both know that's not a SMALL thing... Phil. 4:8.
